Can of Gas Metalworks is a small family business but we're set up to take on a high volume of work with a quick turnaround. We use traditional metalwork techniques in combination with laser-cut parts for increased accuracy and speed.

From CAD drawings to hand-drawn sketches
We work in a variety of ways, from CAD drawings to hand drawn sketches, collaborating with architects, project managers, business owners, and homeowners. Whether it's transforming offices, retail spaces, and restaurants with high quality bespoke metal fabrications or crafting custom steel furniture, brass detailing, or functional and decorative installations for homes and gardens, we're keen to help if we can.
Art & display
Sculpture, plinths and gallery work
We work very closely with artists and galleries in the production of bespoke metal sculptures and display units. Working on a variety of scales, making plinths for works at the Tate to armatures for degree show pieces. We're pretty much all from artistic backgrounds so we understand the importance of developing a piece in line with the concept (and budget) of the artist or curator when fabricating sculpture or display pieces

How quickly can I get a quote?
We usually turn quotes around the same day. Just send over a drawing or even a sketch with some rough dimensions – we'll do the rest. There's no pressure to go ahead if you're just looking for an idea of cost.
Do you work with private clients or only businesses?
We work with everyone – homeowners, artists, architects, business owners and more. Whether it's a one-off table or a full shop fit-out, we're happy to help.
Can you recommend changes if my budget is tight?
Absolutely. If a quote comes in too high, we're great at suggesting tweaks to design or materials that bring the price down while still achieving the look and feel you want.
What areas do you cover?
Our workshop is based in East London, and we regularly work across Greater London. We're especially close to Bethnal Green / Shoreditch / Hackney. Since we recently moved from Greenwich, we're very familiar with areas such as Deptford, New Cross and Peckham.
